Mt Lehman cheese company is the fruit of Jason Dykstra’s passion for making local artisan cheese. Having grown up on a local goat dairy, Jason’s passion was started young. He knows all the effort that goes into making quality goat milk which is where his cheese starts. In his early twenties jason had the opportunity to work in the milk processing industry and was introduced to the art of making cheese. He discovered a gift for making cheese and was soon given the freedom to make alterations to the recipes and enjoyed the process of making a new cheese. After a few years Jason’s parents bought the property and cheese making facility and moved the family operation to its new home. This gave jason additional freedom in his cheese making. “With a growing need for milk the family farm no longer produced enough milk to make cheese and we searched for another supplier and this lead to the creation of Mt Lehman Cheese Company.”

Our Goat milk comes to us from Mystery Meadows Farm in Aggazis BC. A farm with a beautiful lush pasture for the goats to roam and play.
Brad and Christy Bennik are the proud owners of a small herd of water buffalo in Langley, BC. They have always gone against the grain, weather by starting their family through adoption, up and moving their family of 7 to Ethiopia to work alongside women in income generation or this buffalo venture that has been filled with challenges. The Benniks have been building their herd since 2012; with many ups and downs along the way the herd is now ready to provide enough milk to hit the market. Brad has managed and provided herd health expertise to many dairy farms in BC, but has always wanted to venture into something new. Christy is a foodie and an animal lover who is passionate about healthy food and sustainable life choices. Their 5 kids love seeing people’s reactions when they tell them of their pet water buffalo, and are a big help around the farm. The Bennik family has grown to love these endearing animals and are very excited to provide products that are healthy, unique and ethically raised.
